Sid, the Player

A competitive Scrabble player for over a decade, Sid has progressed from the beginner division to India's Premier level, with an All India Rank of #9 (as on June 30, 2026).

Sid, the Builder

Beyond the board, Sid has helped strengthen India's Scrabble ecosystem through leadership, new systems, tournaments and school-focused initiatives at state and national levels.

C

Sid, the Coach

Since launching Word Wizards in October 2025 with just 2 students, Sid has grown it into coaching, workshops and masterclasses reaching learners and educators across India.

2020–21
  • 🏆 National Champion – Division C
  • Runner-up – Division B
  • Progressed to India's Premier level

2022–24
  • 🤝 Moved beyond playing: volunteered across tournaments and Scrabble initiatives.

  • 🌍 Competed internationally in Thailand, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Kenya.

2024
  • ⭐ Consistent Top 10 finishes at Pune, Goa and Hyderabad
  • Began leadership terms as KSSA Treasurer and SAI Joint Secretary

  • 🏅 Helped develop the SAI National Titles and Tournament Director Certification programmes
  • Received SAI's Most Outstanding Contribution to the Game of Scrabble award

  • 🚀 Left his corporate and edtech career to focus on Scrabble
  • Launched Word Wizards with 2 students and ran the first Mumbai workshop for 15 participants

Jan 2026
  • 🎖️ Awarded SAI National Expert and WESPA Master titles
  • First school workshop reached 60 students and teachers in Kottayam

  • Spearheaded the All India School Scrabble Championship

  • 🥇 Won the Tirthan Scrabble Tournament – first Open Division title
  • Finished 7th in the Premier Division of the Gateway Cup, Mumbai
